A whopping 54 percent of American voters, including 86 percent of Republicans, 58 percent of independents and 25 percent of Democrats, are very or somewhat in favor of mass deportation of illegal immigrants in the United States, according to a new poll. ScrippsNews/Ipsos. Last June, nearly 60% of voters supported this policy proposed by Donald Trump, according to a poll conducted for CBS News.

A few hours before the publication of the survey ScrippsNews/Ipsos, Kamala Harris gave a speech to the Hispanic Caucus of the House of Representatives in which she strongly denounced Trump’s proposal, which would notably call on the police and the National Guard to deport the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants, an idea also found in Project 2025.

“We all remember what they did to separate families,” Harris said during her speech. “And now they’ve committed to the largest deportation […] of American history. Imagine what that would look like and what that would be like. How is it going to happen? Massive raids? Massive detention camps? What are they talking about?

Trump recently said that mass deportation of illegal immigrants would be a “bloody affair.” Whether the details of his proposal will win or lose him support remains to be seen. For now, the deal seems to be in his favor.
