“When I saw Christophe Gaudry (the sales director of Charente Libre, Editor’s note) arrive at the house, I didn’t understand,” recalls Jennifer Thomas. “I opened the envelope, I saw a C3 car and I couldn’t believe it. Last year, I won a prize but it was a €40 voucher for Edith’s market. Which just goes to show that you should never give up. My children didn’t believe it. They said to me, ‘But are you sure it’s a real car? Not a little decorative car?’ They were proud of their mother.”
“I opened the envelope, I saw a car, I couldn’t believe it.”
And this could be seen in the big smiles on the faces of the large family that came. Jennifer Thomas is going to give this car to her son, who is still in high school but already in accompanied driving. “It’s easier to learn with a small car than with my big Scenic.” A gift that this mother, an AESH (accompanist for students with disabilities) by profession, in a nursery school in Saint-Yrieix, could not have given to her son. She also intends to use it to save a little on her Scenic.
And set off again next year on the adventure of the CL d’or. “I love heritage, discovering hidden treasures like the Charmé fountain that I often passed by without knowing its history.” On the other hand, like many candidates, the lucky winner was stumped on the size of the woodpile in the Horte forest. Answer: 27.63 meters. “Some came as close as 3cm,” says Christophe Gaudry. In any case, the game, created in 1992, has lost none of its power of fascination. It brought together 10% more players (8,000 ballots and 13,000 calls or text messages) compared to last year. It’s up to you to do better next year!
