His joy and dynamism during public demonstrations reflected a sincere humanity. The mayor died on Tuesday, September 17 at the age of 47 following a long illness.

Elected mayor in 2020, Xavier Bionne has, in the space of four years, been able to energize and strengthen the unique identity of Mondeville, a village proud of its rural character. With his municipal team, he has initiated unifying projects, mixing tradition and modernity. Events such as the Marché’phémères, the Mondevélo or the inauguration of the enameled panels last May, demonstrate his desire to bring together Mondevillois of all ages. He has also been able to forge links on social networks with the Saga de l’été on YouTube. We have always had very involved mayors in Mondeville, but Xavier, because of his youth, was very approachable.e, confides Stéphanie Grenault, deputy mayor. He was always there at the town hall and at school. All the children knew him, they sometimes ate in the canteen with them. He was also there for the meals of the elders and we never had so many people. Conviviality was very important to him. »

The town of Mondeville and the department of Essonne will remember a mayor devoted to highlighting those who undertake in the village, whatever their field and age. He defended his town tooth and nail, not being afraid to go against the grain sometimes, because his priority was always his village.

He won over many elected officials with his tours of Mondeville on an electric bike or Solex. He was also a great collector of the famous moped of the 1950s-1960s, known as Xbcollections. He dreamed of opening a Solex museum in the south of Essonne.

Beyond his municipal commitment, Xavier Bionne was an entrepreneur in the construction sector and he leaves behind a family, his wife and children. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Mondeville church, then at the cemetery from 4:30 p.m.

The entire editorial staff of Le Républicain de l’Essonne presents its condolences to his wife, his children, his mother, and to all those who knew this fervent defender of the Mondeville art of living.
