The goal of the meeting on Saturday, September 14, organized by coaches Tommy Bouvier, Florian Ferrand and Michel Chiker was to strengthen the bonds between players: new and old. To develop solidarity and team spirit, a great program was concocted for them: breakfast in Blauzac, paintball game in Vers-Pont-du-, visit to Camille Marchand’s vineyards and paella in Sanilhac, descent to La Baume in loaded pairs (one blindfolded, the other serving as a guide) then evening at the Malaigue guinguette. The thirty or so players who took part in the game enjoyed this moment of conviviality and genuine laughter throughout a very varied day. Each one outdid themselves in particular to complete nearly 10 km in elevation and in a loop while coordinating themselves on the path (avoiding branches, stones, etc.). Many people took a refreshing dip in the Gardon. They were also touched by the welcome they received from Camille Marchand, in the middle of his vines during the grape harvest, a former player and president of the RCU ( Club Uzétien). They were very impressed by the Grégoire GL6.4 grape harvesting machine that he operated. While it makes the job easier, it requires a heavy investment. To conclude the day, the players indulged in a 3rd half with a sense of celebration specific to rugby players.
