If the team did not succeed in its start during the first day of the Champions League, the French internationals from other European clubs distinguished themselves, this Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Kylian Mbappé participated in Real Madrid’s victory over Stuttgart (3-1). Although dominated at the start of the match, the Madrilenians opened the scoring thanks to the captain of the French team at the restart, on a service from Rodrygo. Little seen throughout the match, the former Parisian can however console himself with this first goal in European competition. The Madrid striker is not the only Frenchman to have distinguished himself.

Olise takes part in Bayern Munich’s attacking festival

Michael Olise was one of the key players in Bayern Munich’s huge 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder was well served at the far post and placed a beautiful header that left the opposing goalkeeper with no chance. He also scored the 5e goal of his team at the hour mark after an excellent attacking phase of play. For his part, Harry Kane, in great form, was the author of four goals.

The other match of this first day of the group stage was played at San Siro. Liverpool won against AC Milan (3-1) in a fast-paced match. Pulisic opened the scoring for the Rossoneri in the 3rd minute, but Liverpool quickly responded. Konaté, the French defender, equalized with a header from a free kick before Van Dijk doubled the lead from a corner just before the break. Szoboszlai widened the gap in the 67th minute, sealing the victory for the Reds.
