Monaco-Barça – Key midfield players: Lamine Camara uncertain, Dani Olmo out! – Lequotidien

Stretchered off in added time in -Monaco (0-3), Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, who provided the assist, was due to undergo tests on Monday as part of the concussion protocol. The former player (20 years old) was hit in the front of the neck by the arm of Auxerre’s Aristide Zossou. A contact that initially seemed harmless, since Camara continued to run for a few seconds, before raising his arm and collapsing.
“Lamine was hit in the neck,” explained Adi Hütter, his coach, after the match. “He is stable now. We will monitor him over the next 48 hours.” It is still too early to say that he will not be able to be operational against FC Barcelona in the Champions League this Thursday, then against next Sunday.

Article 588 of the competition regulations stipulates that it is “mandatory that an expert examination be carried out within 72 hours following the concussion by a doctor who is part of the official list of FFF concussion expert doctors”. This first examination will determine the next steps, namely whether the midfielder will be able to very quickly return to the group or not in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

The course of action to be taken will be specified by the expert doctor. The return to competition must be done gradually according to the six-step protocol of the FFF. A new and final consultation by the expert doctor in the management of concussions must be carried out before the resumption of competition unless the expert doctor does not deem it necessary following the first consultation.

For the moment, there is therefore uncertainty as to the participation of the Senegalese prodigy against the Catalans who will have to do without their midfielder Dani Olmo.

Injured and a scorer on Sunday in La Liga during FC Barcelona’s victory (1-4) in Girona, the new recruit should not be in Hansi Flick’s next group. The Spanish midfielder will be unavailable for seven to ten days according to a Spanish media outlet. The Catalans will be away next Thursday in Monaco as part of the first day of the Champions League.
