BFM TV was able to consult the CCTV footage of the accident. These ask questions about the suspect’s version.

A motorcycle reared up on purpose and a phone used?

In one of the images, we see Matteo B.’s motorcycle rising, our colleagues note. “We can see the motorcycle with its light on, which suggests that the motorcycle has both wheels on the ground.”according to written observations by police officers in charge of the investigation who viewed the videos. Then, “the motorcycle’s fire is no longer visible, The biker reared up his motorcycle. “We can see that his handlebars are no longer in line with the rear wheel, suggesting that he is maneuvering to keep his motorcycle stable.”they wrote again.

Before the investigating chamber during his hearing on September 10, the suspect explained that the wheel of his motorcycle had lifted involuntarily. The movement in the air of his handlebars, as if to find a point of balance on a wheel, could call into question this version of events.

Another point that interests investigators: Did Matteo B. use his cell phone? while driving? At the hearing, the young man assured that his phone was neither in his pocket nor in his hand but on a support located on the handlebars of his motorcycle. However, on the images, the police noticed a strange gesture by the motorcyclist, who “appears to be looking at something as he lowers his head and holds an object in his left hand. Then he lowers his hand towards his left leg.”
