Yet after bursting onto the scene last year, with manager Xavi Hernandez naturally making it even easier for him to break into the professional game, Lamine Yamal is far from earning like a superstar. His contract situation is something Barcelona will sort out in the coming months, but Marca have revealed that he currently earns just €1.5m per season.

Despite receiving a bonus for goals achieved last season, his base salary averages €28.9k per week over the year. By comparison, players like Jude Bellingham are reportedly earning around €200k per week at the moment. For 99% of the world’s population, that’s a huge salary, but in the scale of top-flight football, it’s surprisingly low. But if he keeps playing the way he is, Lamine Yamal is unlikely to run out of money.
