• Shogun: Disney+

With 18 awards, Shogun emerged as the big winner of this ceremony. This American program launched this year, of which 70% of the dialogue is in Japanese, has just made history by becoming the first non-English-language series to win the top award for best drama series.

Adapted from the novel of the same title by James Clavell, published in 1975, Shogun explores the power struggles in 17th-century Japan. John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), a British sailor, gains the trust of a daymio, a warlord, named Yorishii Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada). He is engaged in a life-and-death struggle with the Council of Regents, while a civil war is about to break out.

• The Bear: Disney+

Launched in 2022, The Bear follows the team of a Chicago sandwich shop run by Carmen Berzatto, known as Carmy, who is forced to take over the establishment after starting her career in gourmet restaurants.

The show won no fewer than 11 statuettes last night, including best actor in a comedy series for Jeremy Allen White, the lead actor.

• My Little Reindeer: Netflix

It's one of the television phenomena of the past year. Hailed by six Emmy Awards, this seven-part British series follows Donny, a penniless comedian who tends the bar in a pub to support himself. His dreary daily life is turned upside down when he meets Martha, an unbalanced mythomaniac who makes him the object of her passion. Victim of her increasingly stifling harassment, Donny soon finds himself confronted with the ghosts of his own past.

Inspired by the experience of Richard Gadd, screenwriter and main actor of the program, My little reindeer has established itself as the tenth most-watched English-language series in Netflix history worldwide.

• The Crown: Netflix

Launched in 2016, The Crown traces the reign of Queen Elizabeth II in fiction. The sixth and final season, broadcast in late 2023, covers the period from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. It opens with the death of the Princess of Wales at the age of 36, in a Parisian car accident in 1997.

This final chapter earned 3 Emmy Awards. The Crown Sunday night, including best supporting actress in a drama series for Elizabeth Debicki, who played Princess Diana.

• Hacks: on MyCanal in VOD

When Las Vegas stand-up comedian Deborah Vance's career begins to suffer from her aging jokes, she enlists the help of Ava Daniels, a young screenwriter who has been struggling to find work since a booed Twitter post. The two women, who are complete opposites, form a friendship.

Launched in 2021 to critical acclaim, Hacks is hard to find in France. The first two seasons are missing from the Max catalog, where they should be; it is this platform that produces it in the United States. They are nevertheless available on MyCanal, only on video on demand. Season 3, broadcast last May in the United States, received 3 Emmy Awards on Sunday, including that of best comedy series.

• The Morning Show: Apple TV + and MyCanal

Launched in 2019, with a three-star cast (the main roles are played by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon), The Morning Show follows the daily life of the teams of a major American morning show. Season 3, broadcast last September, collected three statuettes. Since April 2023, Canal+ has been offering Apple TV+ content to its subscribers for free. Hence the presence of the series on both platforms.
