During a press conference given on Sunday evening just before a surgical procedure, Benjamin Netanyahu was particularly offensive while anger is brewing among part of the population. Demonstrations bringing together an unprecedented number of people since October 7 took place on Saturday evening in the country’s major cities, to call for the return of those kidnapped and for a change of government. Some relatives of the captives went so far as to assert that the head of government was blocking an agreement for political considerations.

“Those who say that I am blocking the return of the hostages are spreading lies. Their release is my priority, but for it to take place, we must ensure that we reach a balanced agreement with Hamas,” declared the outset. Prime Minister, noting that he had said the same thing to the families he met earlier this Sunday with his wife, Sara. “The main problem is that Israel is trying to soften its positions, while Hamas is only hardening its positions,” he insisted.

Benjamin Netanyahu continued by mentioning “the danger of early elections”. “Such elections would only jeopardize Israel’s victory and the return of the hostages. They would only serve Hamas,” he said, before reiterating the need for the army to enter Rafah in order to to completely defeat the terrorist organization. “It is only thanks to a military operation in Rafah that we will achieve our victory, and it will take place. Neither the United States nor anyone will prevent it,” he assured.

Benjamin Netanyahu must undergo an operation under general anesthesia to have a hernia removed.
