Shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday, police found a dead woman in an apartment in Sursee. Lucerne police announced this on Monday. The Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University of Zurich is examining the body. The authorities assume that someone killed the woman. The victim is a 57-year-old Swiss woman, as Simon Kopp, spokesman for the Lucerne public prosecutor’s office, told the “Luzerner Zeitung”.

The police on site have arrested the deceased’s partner, a 49-year-old Swiss national. He is currently in police custody and the public prosecutor’s office has filed an application for pre-trial detention, said Kopp. He is presumed innocent.

For investigative reasons, Kopp is not providing any more precise information about the murder weapon or the crime scene. The Sursee public prosecutor’s office is investigating the case. The Lucerne police are looking for potential informants who can provide further information in connection with the suspected homicide. They can contact the police by phone at 041 248 81 17.
