Since the end of “Club Dorothée”, she has become very rare in the media. TF1 is paying tribute to her this Friday with the special program “Thank you Dorothée!” » and so that in itself is a small event. The ex-host, aged 71, says she agreed to participate because she found the idea “touching”. She specifies: “I only react out of love”.
While rumor has it that she no longer wishes to return to the light, Dorothée nuance: “The doors are not closed. If I like it, I go there. If I don't like it, I'll give up. »
“Not entirely suitable” proposals
In 2018, she made an appearance in the film Nicky Larson and the Scent of Cupid. A nod to the fact that it was she who, through her show for young people, made the manga hero known in France. “Philippe Lacheau, the director, was very kind,” she comments soberly. The one who played one of the leading roles in Love on the run by François Truffaut in 1979, confides that she would like to “return to a few films”. She received “proposals”, but which “were not entirely adapted” to her desires.
Ditto on the television side. Asked at a press conference at the end of December about her interest in a possible role as a juror in a telecrochet, she dismissed the idea. “It would be very difficult for me. When dancers were auditioning for the show, I would go and hide, she says. In fact, I liked everyone who was the worst…”
And although she has experience in music, including fifty-nine concerts at Bercy (a record for a female artist), she considers that she is not necessarily legitimate: “On stage, I am not alone. It's teamwork. Each in his own field. »
-She likes “shows that tell about crimes”
Dorothée, however, keeps an eye on what is happening on television. She defines herself as a “telephage”. Among his favorite programs: series, documentaries, “shows that tell about crimes, political shows, from time to time” because “at the moment, we can’t help but watch them”.
As for the presenters, on the other hand, it's difficult to get her to say who her favorites are – “it's not for me to judge”, she believes. However, she agrees to say that she appreciates Nikos Aliagas and Cyril Hanouna. “It’s live. It's swollen. It’s still a long day, right? That has to be done,” she says about the latter. Dorothée knows what she is talking about: at the peak of the show, her “Club” on TF1 represented a thousand hours of air time per year.

Concerning the current offering of youth programs, she is more critical. For her, they are “cartoon reels” lacking “human relay”. “It bothers me. I dream that there is something between. The “Club Dorothée” was another era. Go find crazy producers, crazy broadcasters and crazy hosts… It gets difficult. »
