We know the ranking of the Champions League before the final day of this new formula which will be held next week, and it is therefore possible to plan for the different imaginable scenarios for our French clubs. PSG already knows what it has to do to see the play-offs: a draw in Stuttgart.
A draw could even be enough for Monaco…
For the other representatives of Ligue 1, the ticket is in the pocket, but the sweet dream of finding themselves in the top 8 to obtain direct qualification for the round of 16 still exists. Yes, yes, even for Stade Brestois after its defeat against Shakhtar.
→ Brest in the top 8 if it wins against Real Madrid and four of the following conditions are met: Feyenoord and Lille draw; Monaco does not beat Inter; Aston Villa don't beat Celtic; Leverkusen does not beat Sparta; Atalanta does not win against Barça; AC Milan loses in Zagreb; Atlético loses in Salzburg.
→ Lille in the top 8 if they win against Feyenoord and four of the following conditions are met: Brest does not win with a bigger score against Real Madrid; Monaco does not beat Inter; Aston Villa don't beat Celtic; Leverkusen does not beat Sparta; Atalanta does not win against Barça; AC Milan loses in Zagreb; Atlético loses in Salzburg.
→ Monaco in the top 8 if it wins against Inter and three of the following conditions are met: Brest and Lille do not win by a difference of more than two goals compared to Monaco's score; Aston Villa do not beat Celtic; Leverkusen does not beat Sparta; Atalanta does not win against Barça; AC Milan loses in Zagreb; Atlético loses in Salzburg.
-→ Monaco in the top 8 if it draws against Inter and these three conditions are met: Brest and Lille do no better than a draw against Real Madrid and Feyenoord; Aston Villa lose to Celtic; Leverkusen loses against Sparta.
All this without counting the goal differences, which could be important when establishing the final ranking. We already have a headache.
