Reda Allali, leader of Hoba Hoba Spirit, sparked a lively controversy following his comments concerning AS FAR during his appearance on Monday on the show “La Bombonera” on Radio 2M.
Referring to the qualification of the military club in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Allali indicated that “AS FAR knows how to recruit and is more intelligent than the Casablanca clubs which multiply disputes”. However, the musician clarified, “we are not going to compare this club to the other Botola teams”.
“This is a different type of means. It’s a club that is unique in its structure. We cannot compare AS FAR and Raja. They are two different institutions. Clubs, like AS FAR, no longer exist in the world,” assured Reda Allali.
The artist’s comments caused a real outcry among AS FAR supporters. As a sign of protest, the latter launched a campaign calling for a boycott of the Hoba Hoba Spirit concert, scheduled for this Wednesday at the Mohammed V theater in Rabat.
Faced with controversy, the theater announced this Tuesday the postponement of the concert, without specifying a new date. The decision was welcomed by the club’s supporters, who are now calling on Reda Allali to apologize and reverse his comments.
