singled out, streamer Pfut reacts to Ultia's cyberharassment trial

Mentioned several times during the trial between Ultia and its three cyberstalkers, the streamer Pfut returned to the case this Tuesday, January 21. If he explains “having moved on”, he admits to having made a “mistake” by imitating the videographer during a live performance.

“I have always made jokes about everyone, but it has never gone further than that. I never imagined that people, four years after a joke, would be in an Assize Court citing my name,” says streamer Pfut, live on Twitch on January 21.

For several minutes, the videographer returned to the trial of the streamer Ultia against her three cyberstalkers which was held at the court on January 21.

Since 2021 and its position against the sexist behavior of YouTuber Inoxtagthe content creator followed by 280,000 subscribers on Twitch is subject to incessant attacks on social networks. She regularly receives hate messages, misogynistic speech, degrading comments, even death threats.

And during the trial, one name came up regularly: that of the streamer Pfut, followed by 700,000 subscribers on Twitch. Some defendants explained that they had started to threaten Ultia, prompted by certain comments made by the videographer. Without directly calling for his harassment, the videographer sometimes stirred up hatred in his community.

“I don’t recognize myself in that at all”

Live on Twitch, Pfut then had fun imitating the content creator. In another live, he explained “that she was breaking his balls”. The streamer was finally banned from Twitch for two weeks in January 2022, the platform accusing him of having participated in the harassment of Ultia.

“I do not at all condone the people who are present at the trial and who are tried for harassment,” he explains today. “I have never encouraged anyone to harass anyone.” “In my mind, I couldn't have thought that the only defense of big guys of 40 years old would be that 'Damn would have told me to do that'. Something which cannot be proven since it does not exist .”

“Obviously, I do not at all condone the harassment of anyone. (…) We are talking about guys who threatened to kill her, who went to follow her home. I don't recognize myself at all in that,” he continues.

The streamer also wanted to renew his apology for his behavior live on Twitch in 2021.

“I really wanted to apologize for having made this stupid move and imitating him that day and that it indirectly caused harassment,” explains Pfut. “Today, if I had to do it again, knowing that it indirectly caused him harm, I would never, ever have done that.”

“It was a mistake”

However, Pfut explains that he “immediately moved on”, evoking a story several years old. “That day, I did shit (…) It was a mistake and I apologize again. But I moved on to something else in a minute (…) that pisses me off to talk about it again. For me, this matter was over, I've already apologized,” complains the videographer.

“You will never find a clip of me on the internet inciting people to insult anyone. No one has content where I have harassed a woman or disrespected a woman directly. Ever, never”, clears the influencer who assures “not to be on the internet to cause harm to anyone”.

Pfut notably returned to the numerous criticisms of Internet users or other streamers against him. “I have been given an image of a person that I am not for three years,” annoys Pfut. “I'm not here to play the victim (…) but terms like pedophile, rapist, pointers, strong words. I've been beating myself up for two years because we don't know how to justify why for two years I have been given a label that does not belong to me (…) I have the screens”, laments the main person concerned.

For her part, Ultia explained “being exhausted” and “exhausted” during the trial. “I withdrew into myself (…) When I pass by a group of young people, I’m afraid that they will recognize me and that they won’t like me,” the streamer tells the audience. She talks about a situation that had a “very strong” impact on her mind. “Today, I am being followed, finally, because I have relieved myself of a burden that took so much time and energy,” she explains.

The prosecution requested suspended prison sentences of up to two years, accompanied by obligations of care and awareness training. The trial is expected to be deliberated on February 12.
