Early morning freezing rain and cold rain expected across Central Florida – WFTV

ORLANDO, Fla. — Interstate 10 is closed for 65 miles in the western panhandle, affecting traffic between Escambia and Okaloosa counties, while freezing rain and a winter mix are expected in Marion and Flagler counties.

65 miles of Interstate 10 is closed in the western panhandle.

The closure spans from mile marker 5 to mile marker 70, affecting traffic from Escambia County into Okaloosa County.

While we will miss the snowstorm up north in the panhandle, we are expecting some early morning freezing rain and a winter mix in parts of Marion and Flagler counties.

The rest of Central Florida will likely experience only cold rain, with wind chills in the 20s and 30s tomorrow morning. The last time we had wintry precipitation was on Christmas Day, 2022.

Additionally, we are still seeing record-breaking snowfall in the western panhandle, with some areas receiving over 6 inches. The previous record was 4 inches.
