Unidentified people attack several people in Bavaria – four people are seriously injured

(dpa) According to initial findings, two people were killed in an act of violence in a park in the Lower Franconian city of Aschaffenburg on Wednesday. Two seriously injured people are being treated in hospital, as the Lower Franconia police write on X.

The crime scene was largely cordoned off. There is no danger to the population, said a police spokesman. A suspect has been temporarily arrested, a police spokesman said. Further details, such as gender or age, were not initially publicly known.

Suspicion was ruled out in the case of a second person who was initially arrested. According to police, it is a witness. There were initially no other suspects.

Police have been patrolling the park for a long time

Because a suspect is said to have tried to escape over the railway tracks, rail traffic in Aschaffenburg was stopped. Aschaffenburg is located in the state of Bavaria, almost 40 kilometers southeast of Frankfurt am Main (Hesse). The park called Schöntal is close to the city center.
