Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce have confirmed that former Inter defender Milan Skriniar is on his way over to Istanbul to finalise a move from PSG, which has knock-on effects for all of Juventus, Milan, Randal Kolo Muani, Strahinja Pavlovic and Italy U21 talent Cher Ndour.
Skriniar, who had also been linked with moves to Juventus and Napoli in January, is expected to arrive in Istanbul shortly before having his medicals with Jose Mourinho’s side. Fenerbahce are expected to cover the entirety of his €10m-per-season salary.
Why Skriniar impacts Milan and Pavlovic
Reports last week suggested that Fenerbahce were also looking at Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic as a potential option in January. The Rossoneri are reportedly open to moving their summer signing on just six months into his San Siro tenure.
However, Skriniar’s move to Fenerbahce effectively rules out a move for Pavlovic.
Due to suspensions and injuries, the Serbian is expected to start at centre-back for Milan in their Champions League match against Girona on Wednesday night, which gives him a first opportunity to show Sergio Conceicao what he can do on the big stage.
Why Skriniar affects Juventus, Kolo Muani and Ndour
Skriniar’s move to Fenerbahce could also have a knock-on effect for Juventus, prospective signing Randal Kolo Muani and Italy U21 star Cher Ndour.
-The Bianconeri have done everything on their side to complete a deal to sign Kolo Muani on loan from PSG, but are currently unable to announce him as the Parisians have reached the limit for the number of players they are allowed to send out on loan to foreign clubs.
Though Kolo Muani has already trained with Juve, they are unable to announce his arrival until PSG either sell or recall one of their players out on loan at a foreign club.
With Skriniar now also heading out on loan, PSG will now need to either sell or recall two of their players in order for the aforementioned moves to be officially completed.
Wednesday’s reports suggest that a number of Serie A clubs are interested in signing Ndour, who is currently out on loan at Besiktas from PSG. However, PSG will still need to find another solution if both the Skriniar and Kolo Muani deals are to go through.
