Jane the Virgin in mourning: one of Gina Rodriguez's cult partners also seen in The Bold and the Beautiful has passed away at the age of 39

The world of series is once again in mourning. After an already complicated year 2024 with the disappearances of François Pacôme (French voice of Barney in How I Met Your Mother), by Yannick Mazzilli de Household Scenes following an illness or even Chance Perdomo (Gen V) victim of an accident, 2025 also turns out to be tragic.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office, the actor Francisco San Martin passed away on January 16, at the age of 39. According to initial reports, he unfortunately hanged himself at his home. To date, however, no reason for this dramatic gesture has been given, as reported Deadline.

A well-known face from soaps

It was in 2011 that Francisco San Martin was revealed to the general public. Spotted by the producers of the daily soap opera Days of our liveshe was chosen to play Dario Hernandez. A soap world that he had never completely left since, in 2017, he was this time recruited in Love, Glory and Beauty to play a certain Mateo. A short role (16 episodes), but iconic, since this handyman was paid by Sheila to seduce Quinn so that she would cheat on Eric. In vain.

2017, a year which proved particularly important for his career. Remember, he also joined the cast of the cult comedy Jane the Virginitself a sort of parody of soaps. During seasons 3 and 4, he slipped into the shoes of Fabian, a somewhat simple but terribly sexy telenovela actor, who quickly made Jane fall for him. A parenthesis as funny as it is hot in the heroine's love life, which left no one indifferent.

An unexpected tragedy, which is already shaking Hollywood. On Instagram, actress Camila Banus – who played her sister on screen in Days of Our Lives, wanted to pay a nice tribute to Francisco San Martin: “What can I say except that I love you. Rest in peace, my friend. I love you so, so, so much. I wish I told you more often“.

There is no doubt that new tributes should soon appear on social networks.
