A dump truck overturned in a traffic accident in Brüttisellen ZH on Monday afternoon.
Shortly after 3 p.m., a 19-year-old truck driver drove a 40-ton dump truck from the A15 onto the A1 in the direction of St. Gallen. In the area of the entrance, her vehicle tipped over on its side for reasons that are still unclear and skidded across all three lanes before coming to a stop at the central guardrail.
20 tons of building rubble lost
The driver was uninjured, but was taken to hospital in an ambulance to be checked. The accident caused the approximately 20 tons of construction rubble on the truck to be spread across the two left lanes. The rubble had to be removed using special vehicles.
A private towing company with heavy equipment was called in to recover the truck.
-Because of the accident, two of the three lanes of the A1 had to be closed until around 7 p.m. Drivers were regularly informed via traffic radio.
