Donald Trump is once again the president of the United States following his inauguration.
Outgoing president Joe Biden smiled as he handed over duties, with other former presidents also in attendance.
Freezing cold temperatures saw the traditionally outdoors event forced inside and held in the rotunda of the US Capitol.
In his inauguration speech, Mr Trump declared “the golden age of America begins right now”.
He made reference to his first assassination attempt, saying he was “saved by God” to rescue the country.
Mr Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th US president with his wife, Melania, and youngest son, Barron, by his side.
His older children, Eric, Ivanka and Donald Jr, were also out in full force to support their father.
During the ceremony, JD Vance was also sworn in as vice president.
Mr Vance’s wife, Usha, held the Holy Bible for her husband to swear on — as did Melania for Mr Trump.
The inauguration’s guest list included foreign leaders, media moguls and tech billionaires.

Shortly after delivering his address, Mr Trump moved swiftly to sign official inauguration documents.
The ceremony was broadcast to thousands of supporters who waited in the cold to get a seat inside the Capital One Arena.
There were high energy speeches inside the arena ahead of the ceremony, with some becoming emotional during the address.
Mr Trump then arrived at the Capital One Arena for his inauguration parade, flanked by his family and closest cabinet colleagues.
On stage, he made a show of signing executive orders to the delight of the spirited crowd, before the hours-long festivities began to come to a close.
