At the end of a contested meeting marked by fierce resistance, Annecy won on the Troyes pitch (1-0) at the end of the 19th day of Ligue 2.
Thanks to a splendid achievement from Yohan Demoncy at the very start of the match, the visitors won three precious points in their quest for the play-offs. From the 4th minute, Annecy took the lead thanks to a masterpiece from Yohan Demoncy. Served by Nsakala from the left side, the midfielder took the ball back with a perfect volley, leaving Lemaître no chance. This 4th goal of the season for Demoncy ideally launched the Haut-Savoyards, who dominated the proceedings in the first quarter of an hour, confiscating the ball against a Troyes team in difficulty.
-Annecy gets closer to the podium
Despite a timid reaction from the Trojans, symbolized by a strike from Saïd masterfully repelled by Escales at the half-hour mark, Annecy continued to appear dangerous. Demoncy, close to the double in the 37th minute on a half-volley, came up against a vigilant Lemaître. At the break, Laurent Guyot's men logically led (0-1), despite the hard blows with premature injuries to Soukouna and Kouadio.
The second act saw Troyes monopolize the ball without managing to achieve anything. Escales, imperial in the Annecy goals, intervened on several occasions, notably against Saïd, omnipresent but unfortunate (63rd and 79th minutes). The Trojans intensified their efforts in the final minutes, pushing Annecy to its limits. The visitors, cornered, multiplied their blunders but held on thanks to a solid defensive organization. In added time, Troyes demanded a penalty for a handball in the area following a mix-up, but the referee only awarded a final corner without consequence. Annecy resisted until the final whistle, securing a capital victory (0-1). With this success, Annecy climbs to 5th place in the ranking, temporarily entering the play-off zone. For its part, Troyes remains mired in 15th position, within reach of the barrage, and will have to react quickly to move away from the red zone.
