Champions League – J7: “Very good news”, Bruno Genesio confirms with his group for Liverpool FC – LOSC

The Champions League is knocking on LOSC’s door for the very first time in 2025 with a real shock against Liverpool in perspective. The identity of the men summoned by Bruno Genesio has been revealed.

In a few hours, LOSC and its players will undoubtedly play the most difficult match of their regular season in the Champions League. During the latter, they will oppose Liverpool, undisputed leader in the Premier League and on the European scene (six victories in six matches). This is a challenge that the Mastiffs are capable of taking on, having already achieved this feat fifteen years ago, at home. The situation is obviously different at Anfield, where the Reds reign supreme. They also crushed the team (3-0) in 2010.

During a press conference this Monday, 24 hours before the match kicked off, Bruno Genesio formalized the absence of Edon Zhegrova and the return of Ethan Mbappé:
« Edon Zhegrova did not train with the group, but individually with an athletic trainer. He is not with us today, in Liverpool. But we have a return with Ethan (Mbappé) who is back in the group. This is very good news, he said with a big smile.Gabi (Gudmundsson) is much better. He is fit and he will obviously be in the group. Regarding the duel with (Mohamed) Salah, it will be the same thing on the other side with (Cody) Gakpo. These are players who are capable of making individual differences. We’re going to put things in place to avoid being isolated for too long. »
