Australia’s best-ranked man Alex de Minaur is up next on Rod Laver Arena against American rising star Alex Michelsen.
Eighth-seed de Minaur has made the quarterfinals plenty of times of grand slams but never at his home one. It would be a big moment for the 25-year-old who’s had a sharp rise in recent years.
But standing in his way is 20-year-old Michelsen, ranked 42nd in the world, who has had a stunning run at this year’s Open. He upset 11th-seed Stefanos Tstsipas in the first round and 19th-seed Karen Khachanov in the third round.
-Will de Minaur be his next big scalp? Or will the Aussie be able to conquer the fourth round of the AO this year.
