The referee’s performance at the San Siro in the Serie A postponement analyzed by X-ray by Graziano Cesari. No one was booked except for the Tuscan coach
Ermanno Feliciani, match director of the Teramo section, was the choice for Inter-Empoli. The referee from Abruzzo was born in 1991, but has only two seasons in Serie A. He began his third season in the top competition by refereeing Inter for the first time in the match against Genoa where he still made some mistakes and continued to have confidence with the designation of Roma-Udinese but did not convince in Napoli-Como and Atalanta-Verona and then made a mess in Monza-Milan, when he canceled out a regular goal from Dany Mota. Since then he has no longer refereed in Serie A until the recent Atalanta-Empolilet’s see how the Abruzzo whistle fared yesterday at San Siro.

Feliciani’s history with Inter and Empoli
There were five previous matches against the Azzurri, with 1 success on his debut, 2 draws and 2 defeats. Just one match with the Nerazzurri and it ended in a draw.
The referee only warned the Empoli coach
Assisted by assistants Di Iorio and Zingarelli with Tremolada IV man, Guide to the Var and Di Paolo to the Avar, the referee only warned the Tuscan coach D’Aversa.
Inter-Empoli, the slow-motion cases
Even though he didn’t make any decisive mistakes, there were too many mistakes made by Feliciani. In the 8th minute Ismajli takes a risk, coming into contact with Lautaro, even if the ball hits Grassi early. However, there are no limits for rigor. In the 11th minute, Maleh brought down Taremi directly in the open field: there could have been a yellow card. In the 15th minute, VAR silent check for a very slight push on Lautaro. But there were no limits for the penalty.
At 20′ Gyasi intervenes harshly on Dimarco: Feliciani makes a mistake in not decreeing the punishment for Inter. In the 29th minute there was an aerial clash between Pavard and Colombo. Once again Feliciani lets it go, but there was a foul by the Empoli attacker.
In the 33rd minute, yet another mistake by the match director: Maleh is significantly behind Taremi, no whistle and the Tuscans start off on the counterattack, shooting with Pezzella. Not even a minute passes and Feliciani overlooks a borderline contact between Cacace and Taremi. In the 43rd minute Asllani penetrates the area with a serpentine: slight contact with De Sciglio’s foot, but it is not enough to call the penalty.
In the 62nd minute D’Aversa was booked for excessive protests against the referee Feliciani. 68′ aerial duel with Colombo who hits Carlos Augusto late but the referee doesn’t call the foul, making another mistake. In the 76th minute Gyasi made a clear push on Lautaro Martinez but Feliciani didn’t pick up the whistle: another mistake. After injury time Inter-Empoli ends 3-1.
Cesari’s sentence
To clarify the doubtful cases of the race is Graziano Cesari. The former referee explains to Pressing, on Canale 5: “In the 43rd minute at 0-0 Asllani enters and comes into contact with De Sciglio and Gyasi but De Sciglio’s foot is anchored to the ground, well done Feliciani for not giving up rigor. However, there is another situation in which the referee is not well positioned and does not see a clear free kick because Taremi takes a kick from Cacace, Lautaro complains and he’s right“.
