The Palestinians in the West Bank received, at dawn on Monday, prisoners released from Israeli occupation prisons, as part of the first phase of the exchange deal with the resistance in Gaza.
On Sunday/Monday night, the Israeli occupation authorities released dozens of Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, from Ofer Prison, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
The leader of the Popular Front, Khalida Jarrar, arrived at her home after her release as part of the first batch of liberated prisoners, where she was received by her family.
The sister of Hamas leader, martyr Saleh Al-Arouri, who was assassinated by the occupation in Beirut last year, was also released.
Palestinian journalist Bushra Al-Taweel arrived at her home after being released as part of the first batch of the exchange deal.
The freed prisoner, Baraa Fuqaha from Tulkarm, said, “Our message, thanks, and feelings are for our people in Gaza. Our concern was in prison, with all the torment and every abuse, that the war would stop for our people in Gaza.”
At the same time, the occupation authorities released a number of Jerusalemite prisoners directly to their homes in the city of Jerusalem, where Palestinian human rights organizations confirmed the publication of the names of 90 prisoners, including 20 children and boys, who were included in the first phase of the agreement.
In the vicinity of the prison on the Beitunia side, the Israeli occupation army declared the area near the prison a closed military zone and prohibited the gathering of prisoners’ families.
Dozens of families of the released prisoners gathered near the prison, waiting for their liberated families, and were subjected to gas bombs fired by the Israeli army.
