Fenerbahçe’s Two Goals Were Invalid Due to VAR!

Fenerbahçe and Adana Demirspor faced each other in the 20th week match of the Super League. In the match played at the New Adana Stadium, Fenerbahçe’s two goals were canceled as a result of VAR review.

EN-NESYRI’S GOAL WAS INVALID DUE TO FOUL

Youssef En-Nesyri’s goal in the 50th minute was canceled after VAR review. Edin Dzeko took over the attack started by İrfan Can Kahveci and passed the pass to En-Nesyri. However, Adana Demirspor technical team and players objected to the referee Halil Umut Meler, claiming that there was a foul in the position. Referee Meler, who reviewed the position upon the warnings of VAR referee Sandi Putros, canceled En-Nesyri’s goal on the grounds of a foul.

In the 63rd minute of the match, İrfan Can Kahveci scored a goal that put Fenerbahçe ahead again. However, this time VAR review came into play. Referee Meler, upon receiving a warning, went to the screen and ruled that En-Nesyri had fouled Tolga Kalender before the goal and canceled the goal.

With these results, Fenerbahçe did not get the result it expected from the match as two critical goals were canceled. This important match between Fenerbahçe and Adana Demirspor had a great impact on the results shaped by VAR decisions and the fate of the game.
