The first half of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season has ended – after 17 match days, Mainz are in sixth place in the table with 28 points. In the first two games of the year, the 05ER recorded one win (2-0 against Bochum) and one defeat (0-1 in Leverkusen), while Union Berlin, Rheinhessen’s opponent, on Sunday (3:30 p.m., live on DAZN and 05ER .fm), ranked 13th in the Bundesliga with 17 points – the “Iron” are extremely unhappy going into the new year with two defeats in Heidenheim and against Augsburg started.
