Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the occupation forces will continue to control the Philadelphia axis on the borders of the Gaza Strip and Egypt and will increase their forces in the region.

He stressed that the first phase of the ceasefire agreement is temporary, threatening to return to fighting “forcefully” if necessary.

In a speech on Saturday evening, Netanyahu pledged to “accomplish the goals of the war” by returning the Israelis from Gaza and “destroying” the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

He said that he received “full support” from US President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump to “implement all the goals of the war” and “return to fighting if necessary,” and noted that Trump pledged to release all weapons that were suspended during the Biden era.

The Israeli Prime Minister continued, “Contrary to all reports, we will continue to control the Philadelphia axis, and the numbers of our forces there will increase,” and “We will increase the number of our forces in the buffer zone surrounding the Gaza Strip.”

Netanyahu considered that the Israeli war on Gaza “achieved achievements” and “changed the picture in the entire Middle East. Hamas has become alone. We have damaged the entire Iranian axis, and we can do more.” He said, “The battle is not over yet, and we have a long road ahead of us.”

In what appeared to be a response to the criticism directed at him by Israeli parties due to the ceasefire agreement, Netanyahu said, “Our decisions take into account national interests, and I cannot elaborate.”

He pointed out that “the released terrorists will be deported to Gaza or abroad,” referring to a number of prisoners scheduled to be released under the agreement.

Before his speech, Netanyahu confirmed in a statement that he requires receiving a list of names of Israeli detainees scheduled to be released tomorrow, Sunday, before any exchange.

Agence -Presse reported that the first exchange of detainees and prisoners will not take place before 2:30 GMT tomorrow, Sunday, that is, 6 hours after the truce enters into force.

The ceasefire agreement aims to end more than 15 months of devastating war that left about 150,000 martyrs and wounded in Gaza, andIn a first phase lasting 6 weeks, it stipulates the release of 33 detainees in the Gaza Strip, and in return, Israel will release 737 Palestinian prisoners.
