In the columns of the newspaper The Parisianpublished on January 19, 2025, the mayor of , Édouard Philippe, made some confidences concerning his alopecia.

Édouard Philippe spoke in the columns of the newspaper The Parisian published on January 19, 2025. The one who announced his candidacy for the 2027 presidential election returned to his vision of politics and spoke in particular about his alopecia, the taboo of which he had broken in 2023. “I experienced having this illness which was neither dangerous, nor contagious, nor painful, but visible. Very visible »declared the mayor of Le Havre before adding: “And I can say, because I experienced it, that losing all your hair is anything but neutral”.

During this interview, Édouard Philippe also said that his physical change had an impact on him. “It changes your appearance, your face, the way you look at yourself and that others have at you. It’s not nothing”he confided to our colleagues. Emmanuel Macron's former prime minister then explains that black hair has been growing back since last June “without treatment or operation” and that he feels like he's going through a second puberty. “My daughter told me: It’s the return of the panda! And that made him laugh. I somehow came back from among the bald”quipped Édouard Philippe.

On September 11, Édouard Philippe was a guest on the show Everybody wants to know, broadcast on BFMTV. During this interview, Benjamin Duhamel wanted to know more about his physical change, while his hair, which had turned white, had grown back somewhat at that time. “ Finally… “ Édouard Philippe whispered before responding bluntly. “ Mr. Duhamel, you are talking about physical change… We are talking about some hairs that are growing back. Which I am very happy about, I did not expect at 53 to see my hair grow back”declared the former Prime Minister. He then added: “I'm happy about it but hey, anyway… It's not a big subject after all. I think we don’t care.”
