Challenges and tensions in Barcelona: Flick condemns racism and acknowledges the difficulty of the situation

Hi Koora: Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expressed his great dissatisfaction with the result of the match and his team’s performance after the draw with Getafe in the Spanish League, pointing out their lack of rhythm in distributing the ball despite the opportunities they had.

Flick said: “We had opportunities, but we did not exploit them properly. We must accept what happened and focus on the next match against Benfica.”

He added that his team cannot waste more points if it wants to compete for the highest ranks.

Flick spoke about the difficult situation the team is experiencing in the league, as Barcelona collected only 6 points from the last 24 points, but he stressed that the team will continue to fight until the end: “There is still a lot of season left and we will fight until the last moment.”

The match witnessed controversial moments, including Getafe player O’Shea’s intervention on Koundé in the penalty area, which angered Flick, who described the atmosphere as emotionally charged.

The German coach continued: “I had never experienced anything like this before, but we must now think about the next match.”

The bench was also an arena for tensions between the players of the two teams, as Flick confirmed that the players were screaming throughout the match, and that the team was only seeking to win.

He continued: “I don’t want to talk about these tensions, but we just wanted to win.”

Regarding the racist insults that Alejandro Balde was subjected to, Flick indicated that these actions have no place in football, saying: “These people must stay at home, there can be no place for insults in this field.”

Finally, Flick spoke about Casado’s technical substitution and praised the great work of players such as Badri, who provided an assist for Conde in Barcelona’s only goal.
