Saturday January 18, France 3 broadcasts Murders in Honfleur (our opinion), a new episode of its successful detective collection. A well-crafted plot, not only embodied but also written by Bernard Farcy, the famous Gibert commissioner of the saga Taxi and lover of the region. In the fiction, he plays opposite Hélène Seuzaret, who plays Justine, a cop with whom he had a very beautiful love story several years previously. Except that in this investigation, she is the culprit! During her incarceration, Paul (Bernard Farcy) took care of her son and the curtain falls as she finds this very much-desired child. What about Paul and Justine's relationship after the end credits?
Murders in Honfleur: Do Paul and Justine meet again after the end credits?
After several years behind bars, Captain Justine Duroy finally leaves prison. She finds her son who was looked after by Paul Mesnil, her former companion, while she was in the shade. A moving scene which takes place under the benevolent gaze of this elegant cop converted to catering. But what happens next: will the former lovers resume their lives separately, reform their relationship… Nothing is said but we asked the question to Bernard Farcy, who imagined this story. “We needed a pleasant and above all positive ending. They missed their love story, especially because of Paul, moreover, explains Bernard Farcy. But now life and years have passed, Justine has a child but she has not forgotten Paul and still has feelings. Between them, it was not “a blow” like that, they really lived a beautiful love story, insists the actor. It could not materialize for different reasons which may or may not be justifiable but it was sincere. After the credits, we imagine that they will not lose sight of each other again. Whether or not they are experiencing a love story, there is a real goodwill between them and an unwavering bond. They are not necessarily going to reform a couple but there is a tender friendship, a deep respect and a lovely complicity between them. I believe that Paul will spend his last years raising this child and supporting Justine. We let the viewer say to themselves that from now on, things will go well between them.”
Murders in Honfleur: Is it really Dominique Pinon who drives his motorcycle and plays the guitar?
In fiction, Paul Mesnil was born and always lived in Honfleur. There is also his best friend, Jean known as the Kid, a hard rocker biker played by Dominique Pinon. “Dominique is an old friend, begins Bernard Farcy. Besides, when my character says that Jean is a truant friend, that's not quite the case for Dominique and me, but almost. We didn't need to play up the camaraderie because it's real. […] In the bar, when he's on stage, I think he really plays the guitar, he must play some chords. On the other hand, he does not drive the motorcycle, he was overtaken. It was good for him… as well as for me”, jokes Bernard Farcy.
