Lions aim to regain their isolated leadership of the League
Rui Borges had surprises in store for Sporting's visit to Vila do Conde and Rio Ave. This Saturday afternoon, for the 18th round of the League, the lions' coach kept Gyökeres on the bench – given his recent injury – he opted for the starting lineup of reinforcement and newcomer Rui Silva, and advanced Debast to midfield.
In total, Rui Borges made five changes. In the League Cup final, Rui Silva, Fresneda, Gonçalo Inácio, Debast and Harder are in the starting lineup, to the detriment of Israel, Eduardo Quaresma, St. Juste, João Simões and Gyökeres.
On the other side, at Rio Ave, Petit made two changes following the triumph in the visit to Casa Pia, in the Portuguese Cup. In midfield, Tiknaz takes Martim Neto's place, while Zoabi replaces the suspended Clayton.
