A goal-hungry FC Bayern Munich wants to set the next mark in the Bundesliga against a favorite opponent. The league leaders welcome VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday (3:30 p.m.). Bayern have never lost against Lower Saxony at home. With a win, the record champions could briefly expand their lead in the table to seven points before their rivals Leverkusen play in the evening.
Bayern are also on the way to breaking the Bundesliga goal record of 101 goals from their own championship season in 1971/72. In the first half of the season, Harry Kane’s offense scored 53 goals. And scoring goals against Wolfsburg has been particularly good for years: in the last 19 games against VfL, Bayern scored 61 goals, i.e. more than three per game.
