It’s an event that France 3 viewers no longer miss: The Secret Boxhosted by Faustine Bollaert, was back this Friday January 17 for a new issue. At the heart of this warm and intimate show, Stéphane Bern, Élodie Frégé and David Douillet opened the pages of their lives, carried by surprises prepared by their loved ones. The show, filmed at the Lendit Studio, offers a unique dive into the guests' memories, with testimonies, artistic performances and new revelations. Once again, emotions were high, offering the public rare moments of sharing and humanity.
Stéphane Bern upset by the death of his brother
Each guest discovered unique, carefully orchestrated moments. Stéphane Bern, known for his erudition and his mastery of his emotions, opened his box first. The host, passionate about History, was overwhelmed by a performance by mezzo-soprano Axelle Saint-Cirel, performing Imagine by John Lennon, accompanied by images of his missing father and brother. “I feel like a bit of a survivor. I admired my brother so much… He let me go, that's the hardest part”confided the host, in tears, talking about his brother Armand, who died recently.
Indeed, the year 2022 marked a tragic turning point in the life of Stéphane Bern, bereaved by the loss of his father and his brother. In February, the host paid tribute to his father who died at the age of 91: “He was the best of fathers, both proud of his sons and worried about us, a good man, a cultivated mind and curious about everything, elegance personified and endowed with a teasing, mocking humor”, he wrote on Instagram. But a few months later, in August, another tragedy struck him: the death of his brother Armand, a few weeks before his 60th birthday. “You left too early, one month before your 60th birthday, after having courageously fought against melanoma which ended up winning you“, he confided with emotion.
Élodie Frégé, David Douillet: guests moved to tears
-For her part, Élodie Frégé found Michal Kwiatkowski, her comrade from the Star Academy. Together, the artists revisited The song of old lovers by Jacques Brel. The singer, touched by this meeting, also received a moving message from her singing teacher, Armande Altaï, reinforcing her deep connection with her past. David Douillet, finally, was surprised by the arrival of Marc Lavoine on the set, singing You my love. His wife Vanessa and their daughters then joined the scene, causing a wave of emotions. “It was an emotional shock“, declared the former judoka, overwhelmed by the reunion.
A new success for The Secret Box
Thanks to these moments of sincerity and sharing, Faustine Bollaert continues to appeal to a wide audience. Between laughter, tears and memories, this edition once again demonstrated the show's ability to touch the heart. An appointment has been made for the next issue, scheduled for January 24, 2025, where Antoine de Caunes, Muriel Robin and David Hallyday will be in the spotlight. Once again, The Secret Box proves that emotions and proximity remain the key words of entertainment that knows how to captivate viewers. France 3 is second again with this new number since it captivated 1.83 million viewers (11.4% of the public; 3.9% of FRDA-50), in second place in the audiences!
