Goggia triumphs in Cortina, Gut-Behrami at the foot of the podium

Not even in Cortina Lara Gut-Behrami managed to find her first victory of the season, a success that went to the host Sofia Goggia. In the central part of the track that will host the next Olympics, the Ticino girl first got dragged off line and then went slightly backwards on a jump, two inaccuracies that prevented her from doing better than 4th position, 0″72 behind the winner and 0″17 from the podium.

Goggia thus returned to winning downhill after over a year, while her compatriot Federica Brignone, 3rd, took the lead in the discipline ranking. Second place instead for the surprising Kajsa Lie, her first podium of the season, who finds herself in the top 3 in downhill after almost two years. Good performance also for Corinne Suter, who finished 5th just 3 hundredths behind Gut-Behrami. The other Red Cross teams are out of the top 15.
