There is still disagreement between Eintracht Frankfurt and Manchester City over the transfer of Omar Marmoush. It shouldn’t be a hanging game.

Frankfurt – The transfer poker surrounding Omar Marmoush continues. Manchester City’s very concrete interest in the Eintracht Frankfurt star is no secret, but an agreement is a long time coming. It’s about one of the biggest winter transfers the Bundesliga has ever seen, the Hessians are operating from a position of strength.

So it’s no wonder that Markus Krösche doesn’t give in to the English subscription master, who hasn’t yet waved around enough of his seemingly endless supply of sheikh banknotes. Eintracht can remain tough, as other newly rich clubs have already discovered. However, sports director Krösche has now ruled out a scenario.

Eintracht Frankfurt “doesn’t want a last-minute decision”

“It won’t be a last-minute decision, there will be a decision soon – either yes or no,” explained Krösche, according to the Bild newspaper, at the traditional DFL New Year’s reception on Thursday in Frankfurt. There will be no scenario like Randal Kolo Muani and his last-minute move to Saint-Germain.

One minute before the transfer window closed in on September 1st, 2023, the deal between Eintracht and PSG for Kolo Muani was completed. “It is still unbelievable to this day that a transfer of this magnitude could have been managed in such a way under such time pressure,” said board spokesman Axel Hellmann, still astonished a few months later.

Despite the transfer whirlwind: Omar Marmoush remains the outstanding player at Eintracht

Frankfurt gave in at the time because a record sum was being paid for Kolo Muani and reintegrating the striker after a strike would certainly have been complicated. Those responsible also accepted that a replacement could not be brought in immediately. It may have been beneficial for the development of Marmoush, who came from Wolfsburg on a free transfer in the summer in question.

An agreement with Manchester City still seems likely for the Egyptian. In contrast to Kolo Muani, there is obviously no danger that Marmoush could get left hanging. On the contrary, despite all the transfer fuss in the games at St. Pauli and against Freiburg, the top scorer played a key role in the SGE’s six-point start to the new year.

Dino Toppmöller plans with Marmoush: “Im Normfall”

And so the national player should also be there for the start of the second half of the season against Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening. “Normally he will play, I plan with him,” said coach Dino Toppmöller on Thursday. Of course, the normal case does not have to occur. If Manchester City opens the box wide enough, Frankfurt will probably no longer accept an injury to Marmoush.

Will that happen in time before the game? After fussball.news-Information there was no decision made just a little more than 24 hours before kick-off against BVB.
