Australian Open: huge feat for Gaël Monfils against the 4th player in the world

This player is immortal! Gaël Monfils, 38, qualified this Saturday for the round of 16 of the Australian Open by playing a superb match against the American Taylor Fritz, 4th player in the world, beaten in four sets 3-6, 7 -5, 7-6 (1), 6-4.

The Frenchman knew how to impose his physical power on the American and drove him crazy with his ability to always make him play an extra shot, often pushing him to make mistakes in long rallies.

Solid in service (23 aces), he made the difference in the tie-break of the 3rd set, a real turning point in the match, which he largely won (7-1). In the 4th set, he made the break at the best moment, at 4-4, before ending the match with yet another winning service. It was well worth a few dance steps in front of a won over Australian audience.
