Better to be warmly dressed this Friday, January 17. The cold is still present on this last day before the weekend, with the presence of frost in three-quarters of the country. Grayness, even mist, will be present in a large part of France, including in the southwest and in the Rhône valley.
A few showers will be present in the Pyrénées-Orientales and will turn into snow from 1,000 meters above sea level. In the afternoon, the weather will oscillate between clouds and clearings, but the sun will largely dominate the southern half of the country, with the exception of Corsica where the weather will be choppy, with peak winds of 80 km/h.
The mercury will not exceed 3°C in Lyon, 4°C in Paris and 9°C in Bordeaux, while Nice will benefit from milder weather, with the thermometer climbing up to 16°C.
• Cold and calm weather on Saturday
Hat and gloves will always be recommended for your outings this weekend. The cold will indeed persist over a large majority of the country throughout the day on Saturday. Frost will still be expected locally, particularly in the Val de Saône.
If the sun will be present at altitude, the mist will continue to be present in the plains. The weather will even be overcast in the west of the country, from Cher to Ille-et-Vilaine, when a disturbance will appear in the south-east of France, bringing grayness, particularly over Corsica. .
-The mercury will hover around 0°C in three-quarters of the country at the start of the day, with -1°C in Lille and Bourges, 0°C in Metz and La Rochelle and no more than 3°C in Tarbes. Only the Mediterranean coast will benefit from more pleasant temperatures, with up to 13°C expected in Perpignan.
• Arrival of a disturbance in the southeast on Sunday
The weather will mostly stay the same on Sunday. The day will be marked once again by the cold and the presence of frost in the northern part of the country, particularly in the Ardennes.
Fog will be heavily present in the north, while the sky will remain clear in the south. However, winds from the southeast will strengthen and the disturbance glimpsed the day before will be more pronounced. Enough to cause heavy showers in Corsica in the evening.
