2:3 against Bayer Leverkusen, 2:4 at Holstein Kiel and now 0:2 at Eintracht Frankfurt: Borussia Dortmund was unable to leave the losing lane on Friday evening at the start of the 18th round of the German Bundesliga.

Dortmund have only won one of their last eight competitive games, so criticism of coach Nuri Sahin will continue to increase. The yellow-blacks are still only tenth in the table. Frankfurt consolidated third place.

Hugo Ekitike (18th) initiated the home team’s victory after a counterattack. Dortmund were far too far away from their opponents. Oscar Höjlund (92nd) provided the final point. It was not important that Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush was no longer in the squad as he is about to transfer to Manchester City.

Eintracht is strong even without Marmoush

With their eleventh win of the season, their third in a row, Eintracht moved within six points of leader Bayern Munich, with second-placed Leverkusen two points away. The Munich team will face VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday, while the defending champions will host Borussia Mönchengladbach.
