While the Wedding Fair is being held this weekend at the village hall, Aurélie Jamain, a newcomer to the sector, is preparing to show off her collections of tailor-made costumes.

“I can’t wait to be there, to introduce my models. It’s a real challenge to succeed and make myself known”expresses Aurélie Jamain with joy on the eve of going to the Wedding Fair, organized this weekend at the village hall. And to continue: “We personalize costumes from A to Z, everything is possible in what I create. And for all body types”.

However, nothing predestined the young forty-year-old to join the world of fashion, having discovered basic sewing during her youth with her grandmother. “I have always loved couture and fashion, for me it was obvious but my path was different”remembers the native of in the region. After having evolved for a long time as a psychiatric nurse – “In my family, everyone works in personal service” –, the year 2020 sounded like a click when it was time to join his companion in Haute-Savoie. A skills assessment later, the dream was underway. Training as a model maker-fashion designer in hand, all that was left to do was create his own business. Something done when he arrived in Aveyron, just a year ago, for a return to the roots of his companion, who had been professionally transferred. The adventure is finally launched for the Jamaurel workshop. We still had to find suppliers…

Tailor-made

I work with four drapers (specialists in suit fabric, Editor’s note) different ones including a Frenchman, two Englishmen and an Italian who provide me with the samples. It's just high end. And then, I work with a clothing workshop in Portugal. It takes approximately six to eight weeks for a costume to take place between the first meeting for information and delivery of the product.continues the designer, now fully integrated into Aveyron life. Everything is possible, from the choice of collar, the number of buttons, the type of pockets, the shape of the shoulders and all the other small details of the jacket and pants without forgetting the choice of fabric and obviously the color, explains the specialist who adapts to all body types. Even if the core target is men, the Jamaurel workshop can also satisfy women who want to wear the suit as well as the skirt-suit ensemble.
