The novelist Justine Augier at the Albertine bookstore in Concarneau Wednesday January 22

The new cultural season of the Albertine bookstore starts on Wednesday January 22, 2025, with the arrival of the author Justine Augier, whose work is at the crossroads of literature and investigative stories. Her latest story, “Persone morale” (Actes Sud, 2024) is a fascinating investigation into the “Lafarge affair” and the fight of a few women to denounce one of the most important legal cases of the 21st century, involving a French company established in Syria, indictment for complicity in crimes against humanity.

Justine Augier has also, since the publication of her book “Believe”, on the powers of literature, spoken powerfully about the capacity of literature to change the world and to think and influence political commitment. “His presence in Concarneau delights us and his very detailed knowledge of Syria seems particularly valuable to us at this time, when the Assad regime has ended and the extent of his crimes is revealed,” invites the bookstore.
