NBA Predictions & Preview For Friday, January 17th
Orlando Magic vs Boston Celtics
Start Time – 7:00 PM EAST
The defending champion Boston Celtics lost to the lowly Toronto Raptors by 13 points their last time out, so you’d have to think they’re going to be gunning to get back in the win column tomorrow at home. And while I think they probably will succeed at that goal, I don’t think they’ll cover the spread.
A spread of 12.5 points is too wide for this scrappy Orlando Magic team, who find a way to win games despite being constantly injured. I only have this game lined up as Boston -10.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs New York Knicks
Start Time – 7:30 PM EAST
Karl-Anthony Towns is questionable tomorrow for the battle against his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, but you’ve got to think he’ll do all he can to make it on the court at Madison Square Garden. Whether he plays or not, I still like the Knicks on the spread for this game.
At 13-7, New York has a top-10 home record in the NBA. Even without the home-court advantage, they are almost three points better on the spread than Minnesota.
