Islam Makhachev doubts Arman Tsarukyan’s so-called “secret technique” and confidently makes bold predictions about their potential rematch!
The UFC lightweight division has always been a shark tank of skill and dedication, and it is also full of fighters who love to talk big before fights. From Conor McGregor’s wild predictions to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s quiet confidence, fans have heard it all. These pre-fight declarations have become part of the game, ranging from the ridiculous to the prophetic.
Now, as fans approach UFC 311, Arman Tsarukyan and Islam Makhachev have joined this tradition. They both are confident in their skills and a win in the upcoming matchup. Tsraukyan recently claimed that he has got a mysterious secret technique up his sleeve for his championship bout. But Makhachev isn’t buying this one bit.

Islam Makhachev’s Response To Arman Tsarukyan’s Secret Technique
Tsarukyan has been particularly cryptic about this supposed game-changing move. When pressed about it during UFC 311’s media day, he played coy, only hinting that it would be a surprise.
In response, Makhachev brought up a pretty good point. Tsarukyan had boldly claimed he would finish Charles Oliveira in the first round, but that fight went the full distance and ended in a split decision.
”I told you, don’t believe what Arman says because last time he said he will finish [Charles] Oliveira by one round but they go all distance and he won by split distance, that’s why don’t believe him.”
Islam Makhachev already holds a win over Tsarukyan from their 2019 encounter, and he has made it clear he’s not interested in a trilogy fight after this weekend. The champion seems almost annoyed by all the secret technique talk. His response has been typically Dagestani – straightforward and no-nonsense.
-Whether Tsarukyan’s secret technique turns out to be revolutionary or just another pre-fight fairytale will be revealed at UFC 311. But Makhachev’s message is clear: talk is cheap, and the octagon is where promises either come true or fall flat!
Islam Makhachev Confident In His Rematch Against Arman Tsarukyan
When Islam Makhachev steps into the octagon for a second time against someone, there’s this eerie calmness about him. His first encounter with someone is like reading the first chapter of a book – he’s learning their style, habits, and tendencies. But the rematch? That’s when Makhachev rewrites the whole story. This was evident in his second fight against Alexander Volkanovski, and that is how he thinks the rematch with Arman Tsarukyan (22-3) will play out.
As UFC 311 approaches, Islam Makhachev’s confidence in rematches is more relevant than ever. During the media day, Makhachev couldn’t help but smile when talking about his preparation for this rematch.
“I’m always good in rematches. I will be more prepared, now i know everything about what Arman can do.”
Islam Makhachev (26-1) has studied Tsarukyan’s recent fights and analyzed his improvements. He seems almost excited to prove that while both fighters have evolved, he’s still several steps ahead. The champion’s attitude suggests this isn’t just confidence – it’s the calm assurance of someone who’s solved a puzzle and is ready to show everyone how it’s done.
Both these guys have been somewhat respectful of each other during the buildup of this fight. However, some trash talk here or there hasn’t created any bad blood. This fight is basically the future of the lightweight division.
All the fighters will have their eyes fixed on this matchup, as this holds the key to their future as well. Records can be set, history can be made, and legacies can be smashed, all in this rematch!
