[北京 17日 ロイター] – China’s National Bureau of Statistics announced on the 17th that the gross domestic product (GDP) for the fourth quarter of 2024 increased by 5.4% compared to the same period last year. This was significantly higher than the 5.0% growth predicted by Reuters, and the highest level since the second quarter of 2023.
The growth rate for the whole of 2024 was 5.0%, achieving the government’s target of around 5%. Analysts had expected growth of 4.9%.
-Fourth quarter GDP increased by 1.6% compared to the previous quarter. The forecast was for a 1.6% increase.
