Dairy products manufactured in Muides-sur- recalled due to listeria

The dangerous product alerts site published, Wednesday January 15, 2025, a sheet concerning the recall of unsalted and semi-salted butter, Skyr yogurt and cow's cheese manufactured by the company Ô Saveurs du Lait (formerly Le Croc du Merle ) in Muides-sur-. These dairy products should not be consumed due to the presence of listeria, which causes listeriosis.

For unsalted and semi-salted butter, the batch in question concerns 250 gram wafers manufactured on January 6, 2025 with a use-by date of until February 6. For Skyr yogurts, the 500 gram pots produced on January 7 with a use-by date of January 17 are being recalled. As for the cow's cheese, this is the batch made on December 30.

Products sold locally

These products could be purchased directly from the farm or from one of these local distributors (La Ferme in Saint-Gervais-la-Forêt, Diagonale in , the grocery stores of La Ferté-Saint-Cyr, of Cour-Cheverny , Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire, Saint-Claude-de-Diray and Jardins d’Olivier in Beaugency, the Carrefour express of Bracieux and the Super U de Mer). After counting, 87 cheeses, 16.25 kg of butter and 24 pots of Skyr yogurt were actually sold.

Manager of the company Ô Flavors du Lait, Nicolas Avrain explains that this is the first time this has happened to him in ten years of production. “We are followed by the health defense group. It is a desire on our part to show our good faith by carrying out regular analyses. On Saturday, we learned that three products had tested positive for listeria, explains the cheese breeder. These lots are no longer for sale. Concerning butter, very little was marketed; the main stock was with us. »

“Find the origin as quickly as possible”

Veterinary services came to the farm on Monday January 13. The next day, all the cows were checked. “ We are waiting for the analyzes to return. We need to find the origin as quickly as possible. It could only come from one cow. » Since then, the entire laboratory has been disinfected. “For the moment, we have resumed the manufacture of products based on pasteurized milk, while waiting for the green light for raw milk”specifies Nicolas Avrain.
