Julien Doré, the hero of Panda, shares the screen with a companion as endearing as he is unexpected: a pony! But did the singer choose the animal's first name?
If in detective series we are used to seeing the heroes with dogs or cats, in Panda, Julien Doré shares the poster with a companion as endearing as he is unexpected: a pony! An unusual choice which did not fail to pique the curiosity of viewers.
In life, Julien Doré is known for his love of animals. He also shares his life with two adorable white Swiss shepherds. As Florian Gazan revealed on RTLif he hesitated to call them Simone and Garfunkel, in homage to the folk duo, the singer and actor finally opted for Simone and Jean-Marc.
First names which probably led some viewers to imagine that Julien Doré participated in baptizing his sidekick in the series, Jean Poney.
Did Julien Doré choose the first name of the pony in the series?
To everyone's surprise, the answer is no.
According to the admission of Julien Doré at the microphone of AlloCiné, Jean Poney is in reality an idea of Thomas Mansuy and Mathieu Leblanc, the screenwriters of the series.
The actor says: “It's true that at the very beginning we were looking for a somewhat symbolic pet. With a series located in the Camargue, we immediately think of the Camargue horse. And since Panda is a kind of antihero, we found it very funny that Panda had a pony for a pet“.
This humorous wink fits perfectly into Panda's quirky spirit. A choice that hits the mark but above all reflects the unique identity of the series and its hero like no other.
Tune in this evening at 9:10 p.m. on TF1 to discover new adventures of Panda and his faithful friend, Jean Poney!
