Lineman’s son held for posing as CBI officer

NEW DELHI: A lineman’s son posing as a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Sub-Inspector was arrested by a patrolling team from Subhash Nagar Police Post under Rajouri Garden Police Station.

The accused has been identified as Lalit Kumar (25) son of Yogender Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the police, the accused was caught with a fake CBI ID card stored on his mobile phone.

The arrest occurred during a routine patrol near Shedley Public School in Subhash Nagar. Sub-Inspector Vikash Fageria, along with other police officials, noticed a Santro car in suspicious circumstances.

Upon inspection, Lalit Kumar claimed to be a CBI officer, displaying a photograph of an ID card on his phone. However, the ID card raised doubts due to its suspicious appearance. A case was registered at Rajouri Garden Police Station under relevant sections, and Lalit Kumar was arrested.

His mobile phone, containing images of the fake ID card and other incriminating materials, was seized for further investigation.

The accused Lalit Kumar comes from a modest family and his father is a lineman, and his mother is a homemaker.
