Tackling dealers is not easy. “Many arrests are made, but unfortunately the perpetrators are often released due to lack of opportunity for prosecution,” says Spinette. “If we cannot prosecute and detain criminals due to a lack of resources in the justice system, we must urgently set priorities,” he says. “Maybe we can release families and tackle these criminals first,” suggests the mayor, who is looking forward to the arrival of the new prosecutor.
