Federal Councilor Viola Amherd is stepping down at the end of March
Defense Minister Viola Amherd announced her resignation from the state government on Wednesday. She told the media in Bern that she would be stepping down from her position at the end of March after a good six years. There had been speculation about a resignation for a long time. The resignation announcement comes a few weeks after Amherd ended her presidential year.
